Week two has to go to David Guetta. I grew up mostly listening to hip hop and rap especially while going through a ghetto phase in white suburbia. Techno beats always held a special place in my heart though. To this day Dj Alex’s “Now Your Gone” is still one of my favorites. David Guetta was the one who really got me interested in electronic dance music when I heard “Love is Gone” out at a bar one night. To me he does the best job at combining electro beats with perfectly paired vocals to bring out a bangin sound that bumps.

The Zag Stand will be bringing in the new year by highlighting a different artist every week. This first week I have to give love to my girl Ellie Goulding. Her debut album Lights came out in the US last March and did decently well on the charts. This UK star has been gaining influence and fame with every concert she does. This playlist is of her re-released album Bright Lights, which include a few tracks that weren’t on her first release. Ellie’s angelic voice plus her pop/electric beats give you a lasting sound that will make you put the album on repeat.
